Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
At Building Greatness Autism Center, we practice applied behavioral analysis, or ABA, which is a therapy based on the theory of learning and behavior. ABA Therapy helps our understanding of how behavior works in real situations. The goal is to increase helpful behaviors and decrease unwanted or harmful behaviors.Â
Each of our clients have an individualized treatment plan that is based off of their assessment scoring and deficits. Area’s of Expertise include: Social, Communication, Adaptive, Motor, Academic, Cognitive, Behavior, and Executive Functioning.
Parent Training
Parent training refers to getting parents and caregivers involved in their child’s ABA therapy. We encourage our families and other caregiver to be involved in the therapy process both while in attendance and after. Parent training does not have to be difficult or time consuming. Our goal is to provide behavioral supports and promote parent education.
Social Skills
Social skills are used to communicate with others daily in a variety of ways including verbal, nonverbal, written, body language or through gestures. Social skills are important because they can help you communicate more effectively and efficiently and, as a result, help you build, maintain and grow relationships and positive interactions with others. Many of these skills are crucial in making and sustaining friendships. Social interactions do not always run smoothly and an individual needs to be able to implement appropriate strategies, such as conflict resolution when difficulties in interactions arise.
